Weekend away – Witnessing the ruins to a relaxing hot spa

A short break, time to unwind.

My weekend took me to Christchurch.  It has been two years since the earthquake.

The city is tidy but the whole city centre is dead due to rebuilding.

Roads are diverted here and there and I had a hard time getting from one point to another in the city centre.

Getting to the Avon River was a challenge.

Going round and round trying to find the shed to rent a canoe.

Here we go round and round, round and round, round and round,

looking for a canoe to paddle down the Avon River.

On the way to Hanmer Springs, we visited a winery.

Passing through the lovely country where there are more sheep than people.

Hanmer Springs, here we come !

No trip is complete without the enjoyment of food.
